• A three-value portrait such as “Cousin Billy” consists of three varieties of wood representing three
light values. In this case I used wenge, maple and mahogany. "Cousin Billy" consists of roughly 60 individual
pieces of veneer. Most of the pieces in this portrait are large with smooth flowing curves and relatively few
are finely cut “tweezer” size pieces. A portrait of similar size and detail runs $2000.00

A good quality photograph is necessary to create a good quality marquetry portrait. The quality of light is the primary concern for capturing a
photograph that’s useful for that purpose. Rob will perform a photo shoot for $75 per hour in the north metro Atlanta area. Travel expenses will
apply anywhere else. You may provide your own photograph if you wish. I will determine whether it is useful for my purposes.
